Dodge Journey Brake Pedal Goes To Floor
I have a brake problem that comes and goes.
Dodge journey brake pedal goes to floor. The master cylinder was replaced. The 2009 dodge journey has 3 problems reported for brake pedal continues to depress after pressed. I did have a read more. Changed the bearing hub u joint cleared the trouble lights but the brake pedal issue is still there.
It can still brake but i have to press the pedal to the floor and. Using a flashlight check the level of the fluid or just remove the lid of the reservoir and look inside. Working on a dodge journey sxt. Still have the same problem.
Check the brake fluid level. While i was limping it off the road all the usual abs traction lights came on but the brake pedal also got real soft as in falls almost to the floor before it finds a hard bottom end so to speak. The brake pedal will travel to the floor and feels very soft and then there are times it is fine. If the brake pedal goes all the way to the floor it s likely there is a leak somewhere after the master cylinder.
The brake pedal goes extremely soft after the anti lock brake system engages or after braking when driving over a bump pothole. Anytime you have a brake pedal that goes to the floor raise the hood and locate the brake master cylinder s reservoir. I bled the brakes too. I have an 03 dodge ram 1500 quad cab slt 4x4.
I just replaced the brake booster. Well check the brake lines for leakage after adding brake fluid to the full mark. Average repair cost is 1 800 at 66 800 miles.
