Ditra in my opinion is the best membrane for most floor tile installations. Your tile then goes on the ditra. I laid ditra into a layer of thin set then a layer of thin set on top of the ditra and back buttered my tiles as i laid them. Been installed a couple years now with no problem.

Made of polyethylene ditra and ditra xl serve as a waterproofing layer that protects moisture sensitive substrates such as plywood osb.
